- Classroom Management: Supervise classes during the short-term absence of a teacher, ensuring students remain on task and focused on the work that has been set.
- Instruction and Support: Communicate and explain the pre-prepared lesson plans to students, answering any questions they may have about the process and procedures.
- Behavior Management: Uphold the school's behavior policy, managing pupil conduct to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Administrative Tasks: Take the class register, collect completed work at the end of the lesson, and provide feedback to the returning teacher.
- Emergency Response: Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in line with the school's established policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Child DBS on update service.
- The confidence and authority to manage a classroom effectively.
