- Assist the class teacher in delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), acting as a Teaching Assistant in one-on-one and small group support.
- Support children with LD and EBD in developing social and communication skills, promoting inclusion and positive peer relationships.
- Assist in monitoring progress and providing feedback to the class teacher on how interventions are impacting student learning and behaviour as a Teaching Assistant.
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant with children who have Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
- A patient, empathetic approach to working with children who require additional support, with a genuine passion for their learning and wellbeing as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience using specific strategies for managing behaviour, such as Restorative Practices or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
- Knowledge of interventions for Learning Disabilities (LD), including assistive technology or differentiated teaching methods.
- Familiarity with supporting students with EBD in managing their emotions and behaviours in both classroom and social settings.
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs and external professionals, to support children with additional needs.
- Understanding of how to prepare children for transitions, including assessments, school events, or changes in routine, as a Teaching Assistant.
