Job descriptionSEMH TA:Prospero Teaching are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support young people within the SEN Department of a lovely secondary school in St Helens.
You will be supporting students who need additional support and are disengaged with mainstream education.
Often the students supported within the department will have autism, ADHD, SEMH, or trauma, and are disengaged from mainstream education.You must have experience working with children who display challenging behaviours, preferably with de-escalation training. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, understanding and keen to support young people who need that little bit extra. You must be confident working on a 1-1 basis and be comfortable dealing with students who may display more complex or challenging behaviours.Contract Details:
  • Role: Secondary TA (SEN)
  • Location: St Helens
  • Hours: 0830:1530 (during term time)
  • Rate of pay: £95 – £105 per day (dependant on experience)
  • Type of work: Temporary
  • Full time/part time: Full time only
  • Start date: 01/09/2025
  • Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • Up to date Safeguarding training in the last year (can be provided if needed)
  • Previous experience with Team Teach training, or willing to be trained in it
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is preferred
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
