Location: Rotherham
Contract: 40 hours per week, Full-Time, PermanentThe day to dayUsing your technical knowledge to ensure product compliance with the latest regulations.Working closely with retailer food suppliers to manage product specifications and quality attributes.Collecting and analysing testing data to support marketability reports for retailers.Responding to technical queries from clients and preparing detailed reports.Preparing food samples for organoleptic testing (taste, smell, and texture analysis).Conducting physical, organoleptic, and appearance testing on products.The EssentialsA degree-level qualification in Food Sciences, Nutrition, or a related scientific field (or be in the final year of your degree).A solid understanding of food regulations, labelling, and the food industry.Strong reporting and writing skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing projects and meeting tight deadlines.A methodical, organised, and analytical approach, with exceptional attention to detail.The confidence to make well-informed decisions quickly and effectively.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.A strong interest in the food industry and a desire to learn and grow within the sectorOur benefits include:Annual Leave commencing at 25 days (rising to 30) plus 8 public holidays (pro rata for part time)Ability to Buy annual leave.Enhanced Company Sick Pay SchemeSalary Progression Scheme based on technical and behavioural competencies.‘Celebrating Success’ Recognition AwardsPerkbox membership providing access to discount vouchers and wellness hub.Learning/study supportGroup Personal Pension PlanCar Parking on-siteWorking at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
