With strong private backing and a clear strategy, the group is building a leading portfolio in its category and is looking for a commercially focused Group Finance Director to support and shape its strategic direction.Role OverviewAs Group Finance Director, you will lead the finance function across the Group, playing a critical role in both strategic planning and operational delivery. You will be responsible for financial leadership during a dynamic period of acquisition, integration, and transformation. This role combines hands-on management, strategic insight, and leadership of a high-performing finance team.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
- Partner with the CFO, CEO, and Board to shape and deliver the Group's growth strategy.
- Support the CFO with M&A activity from financial due diligence to post-deal integration and performance tracking.
- Drive commercial insight and decision support across pricing, margin analysis, and product investment.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated reporting and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory financial requirements (UK GAAP/IFRS).
- Manage audit, tax, treasury, and risk functions effectively.
- Lead and develop a finance team of 17, including 4 senior direct reports (e.g., FP&A, Financial Controller, Commercial Finance Manager, and Head of Shared Services).
- Implement and optimise financial processes, controls, and reporting standards across all sites.
- Act as a key driver in systems improvement and business integration projects.
- Take ownership of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP platform; drive further optimisation and system utilisation across the business.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and data integrity.
- Play a central role in assessing, modelling, and executing acquisitions.
- Integrate new businesses quickly and effectively into group reporting and control structures.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role within a multi-site FMCG, manufacturing, or consumer product business.
- Strong track record in M&A activity, including due diligence and integration.
- Experience managing and developing large finance teams (20+).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in a private equity-backed or highly leveraged environment.
- Exposure to international markets and operations.
- MBA or additional strategic finance qualifications.
