Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to FridayReports to: Group Director of Financial ControlLocation: Winnersh, RG41 (Hybrid)We’re looking for a Head of Group Reporting to lead the financial reporting function across ASL’s complex and fast-paced European structure. This is a high-profile role reporting directly to the Group Director of Financial Control, managing consolidations, statutory reporting, and shareholder submissions, while acting as a key contact for auditors and local finance teams.You’ll oversee multi-currency consolidations, drive reporting accuracy and process improvements, and lead a small but high-performing team. - Lead monthly, quarterly and annual consolidations in SAP BPC (10.1, with replacement system incoming).
- Manage preparation, review and submission of shareholder reporting.
- Oversee statutory accounts preparation (FRS 102 / UK GAAP) and act as key audit contact.
- Integrate new acquisitions into group reporting and lead fair value balance sheet exercises.
- Own technical accounting areas such as goodwill, intangibles, deferred consideration, lease accounting (IFRS 16).
- Maintain accounting policies, reporting processes, and BPC master data.
- Drive process improvements across systems and reporting.
- Lead, coach and develop a small group reporting team (2+ people).
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Strong technical background in group consolidations and statutory reporting.
- Experience with SAP BPC (or similar tools such as Hyperion, HFM, OneStream, Cognos).
- Advanced Excel and strong process improvement mindset.
- Confident leader and communicator with experience across international/multi-entity environments.
- Bonus: Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource (or Caseware), acquisitions, or system implementations.
- Be at the centre of a complex, pan-European group structure – a technical accountant’s Everest.
- Play a pivotal leadership role, shaping reporting processes and standards across the group.
