This is a very engaging role, encompassing a range of facilities management activities, critically reviewing and providing input while working within the established facilities plan to achieve pre-established outcomes.The role will require the individual to be both proactive and reactive in their approach to safety and FM, with a mindset to continually want to improve processes and be hands on with managing activities and being a first responder to on-site incidents.

- Handle all daily operational FM issues and respond to staff queries and requests
- Implement and maintain health and safety standards, creating and practicing safe working techniques
- Perform a range of facilities management activities, critically reviewing and providing input while working within the established facilities plan to achieve pre-established outcomes.
- Conduct and manage risk assessments and method statements for the office, contractors and PEEPs.
- Supervise a staff of facilities maintenance workers who perform maintenance service and repairs throughout the office
- Act as first point of contact and an important touchpoint for all facilities management activity and reporting within the office environment
- Maintain a healthy and productive relationship with the facilities management contractor
- Attend H&S Committee Meetings
- Recording of safety near misses and incidents within the in-house safety system and monitoring completion of improvement actions
- Conduct and arrange frequent S5 safety inspections and checks
- Staying up to date of all latest regulations and trends in health and safety and ensuring all our employees complies with these standards
- Support in providing good solutions and techniques at the Safety Committee.
- Championing and being innovative with new ideas and initiatives
- Work with the Security and Safety Manager as well as the Head of People & Culture to document information, risk assessments, minutes of the Safety Committee and compiling high level reports
- Being hands on and responding to issues as they occur and taking a methodical, triage-based approach before involving the external contractor for any repairs or any FM based activity
- Ensuring visitors and on-site contractors are fully compliant from a security and safety compliance perspective i.e. holding correct permits etc
- Ensure compliance to UK regulations and the Urenco Global Safety standards and processes
- Respond to any facilities or safety complaints and concerns raised by employees
- 3-5 years minimum experience within a similar safety/FM role
- A willingness to be on site 5 days a week
- Suitably qualified with relevant safety qualifications, i.e. NEBOSH. IOSH would be preferred, but training in this will be provided for the right individual
- A strong understanding of HSE law and legislation
- Experience dealing with a full array of facilities management personnel and good interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships
- A proactive mindset, but the ability to react and respond to situations as they occur as well as a desire to improve and take ownership of processes
- Experience managing safety and FM in different environments
- Office administration skills and experience of supporting a team
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail to spot various hazards and assist with investigations.
- Process-driven and the ability to use your initiative.
- Experience of delivering cultural change
- Data management and analysis, working with databases and software packages
- Annual leave of 27 days per annum.
