- A degree (or equivalent) in Naval Architecture or a closely related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution, or a clear and demonstrable pathway to achieving it.
- Proven experience in the defence sector, with a strong understanding of both defence and commercial standards, including classification society rules.
- Expertise in hull form design and optimisation, weight estimation, stability analysis, manoeuvring, and seakeeping assessments.
- Proficiency in naval architecture software, particularly Paramarine, alongside other industry-standard tools.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively within project teams and with clients.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and coaching colleagues, supporting both project delivery and the development of less experienced team members.
- A track record of delivering high-quality work and ensuring outputs meet relevant standards through rigorous checking and review.
