This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Medical Secretary to join our busy and friendly department. The post holder must be able to undertake a range of administrative duties, be well organised with excellent typing, administration and communication skills. Applicants will need to have experience of working in a busy office environment, be able to prioritise their workload efficiently, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work independently using own initiative. Applicants ideally should have previous experience in a medical secretarial role with an understanding of medical terminology being proficient in audio typing and be able to work independently using own initiative. This role requires the candidate to be flexible with their role as each day is different.This role will specifically be to arrange departmental meetings, prepare agenda's, attend the meetings and type the minutes. The post holder will also be the named secretary for least one Consultant and will be expected to type clinical letters as well as undertake general admin duties and booking appointments.Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the job are varied, but overall include:- Arranging, preparing agenda's and minute taking for departmental meetings- Supporting at least two consultant - including typing letters- Booking patients for Outpatient appointments- Sending letters in a timely manner- Filing- Communicating with Consultants and other medical/operational team members effectively.- Answering the telephone and liaising with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
