Accommodation is available upon request for candidates taking part in the selection process.How does this role contribute to our collective success?AXIS is seeking a strategic and experienced Operations Lead for its newly formed Capacity Solutions business unit, which is focussed on multi-line portfolio business written with brokers and MGAs. This new business unit will operate under the remit and direction of the Group CUO, and be responsible for successfully assessing, onboarding and managing multi-line portfolio business, whilst maximising the potential returns for AXIS.The Operations Lead will be a key advisor and driver of operational excellence, responsible for designing and executing onboarding strategies, overseeing ongoing operational performance, and shaping the operating model for this innovative business unit. This role will serve as the central conduit between AXIS functions and external trading partners, ensuring seamless execution and governance across all deals.This role is critical to the overall success of the business and operating model. This new business unit will be supported in its execution by a virtual team from across AXIS, including our CUO Office, Operations and Distribution.This position reports to the Head of Capacity Solutions.What will you do in this role?
  • Lead the strategic design and execution of the operational implementation plan for all business written by the business unit, both new and renewal, ensuring alignment with AXIS’s broader transformation goals.
  • Serve as the primary operational advisor for the business unit, providing expert guidance on structure, governance, and process improvements with long-term impact, and ensuring standards are achieved across operational audits, management of all facilities written, credit control and any bespoke ongoing reporting required
  • Establish and maintain operational governance frameworks, including oversight of credit control, data processing, and resolution of partner queries.
  • Liaise with AXIS support functions as required in both the development, the onboarding and oversight strategy for all business written, including the development and implementation of an onboarding playbook and change management plan for any non-standard deal types which require elevated co-ordination across the group
  • Primary point of contact for operational oversight matters, representing the business unit both within AXIS and with distribution & trading partners
  • Support the structuring of new multi-line portfolio opportunities with Brokers and MGAs
  • Work with the wider support functions to ensure processes are efficient and align to the wider transformation strategy for delegated & facilitised business within AXIS
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to structure new multi-line portfolio opportunities, ensuring operational feasibility and efficiency.
  • Champion best practice operating models and influence cross-functional teams to ensure an efficient operating model for multi-line portfolio business and deliver efficient, scalable solutions that support business growth and operational resilience.
  • Establish and maintain operational governance frameworks for the business unit, including liaising with the operations function to provide oversight to credit control, efficient and timely data processing and orderly resolution of queries with trading partners

  • The suitable candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in an operations role in commercial lines (re)insurance.
  • Significant experience in London Market operational processes, in the Lloyd’s and company markets.
  • Self-initiated and high motivation; proactively addressing issues
  • Experience in building strong and effective relationships with colleagues and leadership, with a proven ability to win confidence of business partners and influence outcomes.
  • Experience in managing large change management projects across a range of stakeholder groups and technical disciplines
  • Experience in and perspective on best practice operating models, governance and business unit performance frameworks
