About the Role:We are recruiting for a Domestic Claims Handler to manage domestic and commercial property insurance claims up to £25,000. You will be responsible for guiding customers through the full claims journey, from first contact to resolution, while ensuring compliance with HSE and CDM regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance customer care with technical claims handling expertise.Key Duties:
  • Manage domestic and commercial property claims (up to £25K)
  • Guide customers through the full claims process from start to finish
  • Liaise with customers, insurers, contractors, and colleagues
  • Validate and challenge repair scopes with high attention to detail
  • Ensure claims are resolved efficiently and in line with customer needs
  • Apply building and construction knowledge to assess claims accurately
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate case records
  • Use claim handling systems and follow processes consistently
  • Work within HSE and CDM guidelines
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in:
  • Technical claims handling
  • Building and construction
  • Strong knowledge of repair scoping, HSE & CDM regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong administrative and time management abilities
  • High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • Proactive, resourceful and calm under pressure
  • Team player with a customer-first mindset
Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
  • Cert CII or Cert CILA
  • Experience using CAD systems or insurance scoping tools:
  • Verisk (Xactware)
  • CoreLogic (Symbility)
