An opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to work within the Therapies and Education Service at Rampton Hospital.The main purpose of the role is to deliver learning strategies alongside and under the supervision of a Lecturer.The post holder will support patients who have various educational and neurodiverse needs.The successful candidate will join an established team of educators and support the fantastic work they are doing.Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa.Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at thebottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimumsalary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In thesecircumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care visa.Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa can determine the likelihood of obtaining aCertificate of Sponsorship against the relevant criteria here https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will support patients within a day unit setting and on the wards.The aim is for patients to achieve educational goals, work towards their recovery and to develop the requisite skills that will assist access to their treatment pathway.The successful candidate will need to be empathetic, observant and confident. You will be working with people who have severe mental health issues, having patience is paramount to the role.
