Job Description:Financial Controller - Growing SME | Leeds | £70,000-£80,000 DOERobert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting on behalf of a thriving business in Leeds that's seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance function. This is a classic Financial Controller role offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, manage a small team, and support the business through its next phase of growth.The Role:Reporting to the Finance Director you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial and management accounting, ensuring robust financial controls, and providing strategic insight to support decision-making. You'll report directly to the senior leadership team and play a key role in driving performance and efficiency across the business.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring high performance and development
  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and liaise with external auditors
  • Develop and maintain financial controls and processes
  • Provide commercial insight and support strategic planning
  • Partner with operational teams to drive business performance
About You:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within an SME
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen
  • Experience managing and developing finance staff
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to operate strategically and tactically
Salary: £70,000-£80,000, 25 days holidays, annual bonus, private medical
