
Group Financial Controller

- The closure of the month end management and group accounts reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow. Drive improvements in the month end close process.
- Ensure that key financial controls are in place throughout the business, are maintained and compliance is met.
- Provide direction, supervision and development of the finance team, including the management and financial accountants, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Ensure that the department functions effectively, deadlines are met and support is given to the wider business.
- Overall responsibility for external reporting requirements, including VAT submissions, PAYE and NI, liaising with external tax consultants to support annual tax computations, and quarterly banking requirements.
- Day-to-day cash management, to include weekly cash forecasts and payment allocations, payment review and approval, ensuring that the business is within its banking facility limits and retains sufficient cash to meet business critical payables.
- Responsible for ensuring the credit control teams work accurately and efficiently and that the level of outstanding queries are continually low and quickly resolved. Build robust rules around cash collection and ensure they are implemented and adhered to when there are instances of non-payment by customers.
- Ownership of all the financial statements of the Group, including full PLC group consolidated accounts
- Co-ordinate and oversee the annual statutory audit and ensure compliance with UK accounting regulations and practices.
- Supporting the Chief Financial Officer on ad hoc corporate finance projects
- Responsible for maintaining the day to day relationship with the banking syndicate, providing reports and information as requested and ensuring the company is always in compliance with banking covenants.
- Qualified candidate (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
