- Developing new and existing models across a number of modelling codes.
- Performing analysis of fault sequences and other system transients, to inform design decisions and support safety case submissions.
- Providing technical expertise to further the understanding of the complex thermohydraulic phenomena predicted by the modelling.
- Providing model validation support and guidance.
- Continuing development of your technical expertise in using thermohydraulic modelling codes.
- Communicating complex concepts and results to our customers in a way that they can be readily understood.
- Developing and strengthening our technical and commercial relationships with our existing clients.
- Expanding our technical capability and client base across the new-nuclear sector.
- Managing all aspects of technical projects, including client communication, project delivery and other staff involved in the project.
- Developing new business by responding to enquiries and writing bids, and representing Frazer-Nash at client meetings, conferences and seminars.
- Experience of applying and understanding nuclear systems codes (e.g. RELAP, GOTHIC, CATHARE, TRACE, VIPRE, S5K) to support the design and/or operation of nuclear power plants.
- Solid understanding of thermal hydraulics and multiphase flows.
- Have a degree and/or post-graduate degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related discipline, or a similar level of relevant experience.
- Ability to independently manage and deliver projects to meet customer requirements.
- Be adept at communicating with clients and others at all levels, including through meetings and presentations, written reports, commercial bids and technical discussions.
- An ability to code using python, matlab or other software languages, to support or optimise analysis and simulation.
- Experience of providing technical and commercial leadership for small project teams.
- Experience of writing proposals, client liaison and business development.
