DESCRIPTIONAs an Engineering Manager in our Finance Primitives organization, you'll play a critical role in owning and evolving the systems that keep the financial engine of the company running. This team sits at the heart of our infrastructure-responsible for bank integrations, payment connectivity, and a suite of business-critical services that ensure money moves reliably and securely across our platform.You'll lead a team of talented engineers focused on delivering robust, scalable, and compliant financial infrastructure. From integrating with global banking partners to powering real-time transaction flows, your work will directly impact the operational stability and financial accuracy of the entire business.This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in complex domains, values precision, and is motivated by the challenge of building systems that underpin the company's trust and reliability.WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Lead and grow a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining bank integrations, payment pipelines, and financial APIs.
  • Own the architecture and operational excellence of business-critical systems with high reliability and availability requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Product, Finance, and Compliance to prioritize features, support audits, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Drive strategic decisions around vendor integrations, financial data flows, and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Champion engineering best practices including testing, monitoring, alerting, and documentation.
  • Act as an escalation point for production incidents related to your team's domain.
  • Participate in planning, roadmap development, and team resourcing to support both short-term deliverables and long-term scalability.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience working on financial integrations, payment systems, or banking APIs (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA, Open Banking, Plaid, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, secure data processing, and transactional consistency.
  • Strong background in backend development using languages such as Java, Go, Python, or similar.
  • Experience managing production systems with high availability and performance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Comfortable working in regulated or compliance-heavy environments (e.g., SOC2, PCI, GDPR).
