Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £85 - £125 per day (dependent on experience)Prospero Teaching is looking for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive school in the Huyton area. This full-time role is specifically to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other additional needs.This is an ideal position for a candidate who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and has a calm, nurturing approach to learning support.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to students with Autism
- Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans
- Promote engagement, independence, and emotional well-being
- Help manage behaviour in a supportive and consistent way
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and other support staff
- Proven experience supporting children or young people with Autism
- Strong understanding of ASD strategies and communication techniques (e.g. , PECS, visual timetables, sensory tools)
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- A DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
- Relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience preferred
