This flexible, ongoing position offers either full-time or part-time hours, allowing you to balance your career and personal life while making a tangible impact in the community.Perks and BenefitsFlexible Hours: Choose between full-time or part-time based on your lifestyle and commitments.Negotiable Pay Rate: Enjoy a competitive, flexible hourly rate tailored to your experience and qualifications.Professional Development: Access ongoing training and CPD to keep your skills sharp and your career on track.Collaborative Network: Work alongside healthcare, housing, mental health, and social care professionals in a multi-agency setting.Variety and Impact: Each client brings a unique story — no two days are the same, making your work diverse and deeply rewarding.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out detailed assessments of clients’ substance misuse and psychosocial needs.Develop and implement person-centred Recovery and Treatment Plans tailored to individual goals.Manage a varied caseload, delivering structured one-to-one and group interventions.Facilitate psychoeducational and motivational group sessions using evidence-based approaches such as CBT and MI.Promote harm reduction strategies, including needle exchange, naloxone training, and safer use education.Engage in multi-agency collaboration with healthcare providers, mental health teams, social care, housing, and the criminal justice system.Maintain accurate, confidential case notes using systems such as CGL or equivalent.Actively respond to safeguarding concerns and escalate when necessary in line with local policies.Encourage client autonomy and resilience, supporting pathways into education, training, employment, and housing.Essential RequirementsProven experience supporting individuals affected by substance misuse, homelessness, mental health, or offending behaviour.Ability to manage a caseload and develop structured support plans.In-depth understanding of recovery models, safeguarding, and harm reduction.Excellent communication and crisis intervention skills.Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).Enhanced DBS clearance (mandatory).Desirable Qualifications & ExperienceExperience delivering Motivational Interviewing, CBT-based interventions, or trauma-informed care.Background in prison or community-based recovery services.Lived experience of recovery and/or peer support involvement.Ideal Candidate AttributesCompassionate, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.Resilient and adaptable to change.Passionate about empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and reducing stigma.Why Choose Manchester?Manchester is a vibrant, multicultural city with a unique blend of rich heritage and modern energy.
