You will take ownership of design solutions for client-driven projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with industry standards, and the efficient execution of design activities. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you will contribute to the company's mission of delivering high-quality, innovative engineering solutions.Key Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer include:
  • Lead the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems, utilising advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Take responsibility for delivering fully qualified design solutions for customer projects.
  • Oversee third-party engineering service providers to ensure efficient and high-quality design execution.
  • Ensure all design activities comply with relevant industry standards and quality systems, including ISO 9001.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and project teams to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering professional development within the team.
  • Perform additional technical tasks as required to support overall business objectives.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a design engineering role with a proven track record of delivering projects.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and FEA tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and fundamental engineering calculations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
