We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Team Manager to join our Early Intervention and Prevention leadership team.What will be expected from me?The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and management to a team of practitioners delivering a high-quality early intervention and prevention offer across Wakefield district with a clear focus on improving outcomes for children and their families.To do this, you will be responsible for delivering an enhanced youth engagement offer that identifies children at risk of adverse outcomes and connects them with local, sustained support from the early help system.What I might be doing?
  • You will have primary responsibility for the operational development and delivery of high-quality services ensuring that services are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, local and national policy, and guidance, achieving the best possible outcomes for children in the district.
  • You will provide effective leadership to enable strong partnership working, instilling a clear sense of purpose, priority, and direction.
  • You will work alongside schools and education providers in promoting school attendance and inclusive approaches that help children's academic achievement and successful transition to adulthood.
  • You will contribute to partnership approaches that prevent children from adverse outcomes such as crime, exploitation or anti-social behaviour.
  • You will further develop a positive culture informed by robust performance and assurance systems that demonstrate the quality and impact of the service.
Essential requirements:
  • To hold a degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification OR the ability to demonstrate the requisite skills, knowledge and competencies through substantial experience.
  • Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification or substantial management experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development, particularly in leading individuals and teams and transforming service delivery.
  • Substantial experience of managing practitioners who work directly with children and families, including the most vulnerable.
  • Experience of performance management, using data as an indicator to the provision of high-quality services and driving up standards.
