Contract Type: Full-TimeSupply Desk is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Great Missenden, seeking an engaging Food Technology Teacher to join their Design and Technology department from September. This is a full-time position with full teaching responsibilities across Key Stages 3 and 4, running until at least December 2025.About the Role:
  • Plan and deliver dynamic, hands-on Food Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Take full responsibility for all aspects of classroom teaching, including lesson planning, marking, and assessment.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures enthusiasm for cooking and nutrition.
  • Encourage creativity and independence in food preparation while promoting safe and hygienic kitchen practices.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and build positive relationships with students.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Design & Technology team to enhance curriculum delivery and share effective teaching strategies.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Specialisation in Food Technology or Design & Technology, with a strong focus on food.
  • Recent experience teaching in a UK secondary school, preferably within the Food Technology subject area.
  • In-depth understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Food Technology curriculum.
  • Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively and inspire students across a range of abilities.
  • A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
