Job Description :About the Role:We’re seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Advisor to support our engineering operations across multiple sites. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in health, safety, quality, and environmental (HSQE) compliance within engineering or construction environments.Key Responsibilities:Support the development and achievement of the organisation’s HSQE objectivesMaintain and update internal HSQE processes and documentation within the integrated management systemReview and manage risk assessments and COSHH documentation across all business activitiesDeliver site inspections, internal audits, and toolbox talks in line with the audit planSupport project teams in incident investigations and ensure appropriate reporting and record-keepingLiaise with regulatory bodies in the event of reportable incidentsIdentify areas for improvement and drive the implementation and monitoring of corrective actionsCoach, mentor, and provide HSQE advice to staff and contractorsMonitor HSQE KPIs and report on performance to senior managementLead internal HSQE meetings and contribute to internal/external newsletters to promote safety cultureEngage with client HSQE representatives to support joint improvement initiativesRequirementsRequirements:NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) minimumExperience in a health and safety role within an engineering or industrial environmentStrong understanding of compliance requirements, including ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and ISO-45001Good knowledge of external accreditations (e.g. Constructionline, SafeContractor, SSIP schemes)Previous involvement in site-based audits, toolbox talks, and accident investigationsCommercial awareness and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levelsIT proficient, ideally with SharePoint knowledgeMembership of IOSH (TechIOSH) or IIRSMFull UK driving licenceBenefitsBenefits:25 days’ holiday plus bank holidaysAdditional holiday allowance after 2 years of service (up to 5 extra days)Long-service awardsTraining and development opportunitiesPension schemeOptical eye-care vouchersDeath in Service coverHealthcare supportCycle to Work SchemeDay off on your birthday
