- Start to take the lead on multiple projects or programmes through the management of a team with the contribution of cross divisional specialists
- Rigorously executing projects to a level that meet the high-quality standards of Amberside Advisors and holding a review on completion of projects to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and planning
- Building and cultivating strong business relationships, identifying new opportunities, leading negotiations, and showing technical and operational leadership to deliver quality, client-centric solutions
- Working on CPD to sustain professional status/ accreditation and developing and maintaining a portfolio of clients and professional networks by building and maintaining strategic relationships with senior stakeholders of existing or new clients
- Seeking, developing, and driving business development opportunity, whilst anticipating current and future needs of the company based on research needs of the client/ industry
- Managing the scope, preparation, delivery, reporting and evaluation for larger and higher risk projects and engagements
- Effectively managing commercial and contractual aspects of an engagement to achieve expected levels of quality, profitability, and to agreed deadlines
- Communicating risk and issues early to appropriate colleagues, suggesting solutions
- Maintaining an awareness of market trends, competitor activity and products/ services, passing on pertinent market/client knowledge to senior management
- Working with peers to form a cohesive senior management team and participating in team decisions such as resource allocation
- Taking action to ensure employee wellbeing is being actively managed or escalated if needs be
- Reviewing junior team’s works to ensure the work provided for senior review is the highest quality; identifying any development needs of the team and providing advanced knowledge, coaching, mentoring and stretch assignments to attract, develop and retain talent
- Meeting deadlines throughout the Amberside Advisors Performance Development Cycle, including appraisals, setting objectives, and managing underperformance where necessary
- Ensuring team are accurately charged time to engagement codes to see true value of work delivered and to recognise individual and team effort
- Help to support the onboarding of new joiners
- Driving curiosity to solve client problems and respond to a challenge
- Belief that solving the world’s energy and climate challenges is something to which we should all respond
- Passion for understanding the financial drivers for each project, combined with the intellectual and communication skills to help clients understand the impact of those drivers
- Confidence in using you own initiative and making decisions at pace
- Exceptional attention to detail and an ability to translate this to an Excel model
- Practiced at communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner – verbally or in written form
- Exhibits role model behaviour in line with Amberside Advisors values
- Expert user of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
- The ability to work and communicate as part of a team, and in an effective manner
- Skilled at coping well when under pressure from competing priorities and interruptions
- Able to apply research skills to solve new issues and make improvements
- Typical experience may include, whilst not limited to:
- Experience of working in a consulting role in financial services
- Experience in leading delivery of large-scale financial projects, including the designing and implementing of financial operating models
- Financial modelling, budgeting, business planning, forecasting and analysis experience
- Experience working as an effective team player and taking on a leadership role
- A first level university degree, 2:1 (or equivalent) or above is desirable but not compulsory
- An accounting qualification (ACA, ACMA, ACCA) or similar
