Morgan McKinley are working with a leading international law firm, seeking an experienced litigation lawyer to join its Risk & Legal team on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.This role will sit within the firm's Professional Liability function and report directly to the Head of Professional Liability.The team advises on a wide range of legal and regulatory risk issues including claims, complaints, insurance, professional conduct, and regulatory matters.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established legal risk team at a prestigious global firm, supporting on contentious risk matters and gaining valuable in-house experience.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the management and reporting of professional liability claimsDraft responses to client complaints and liaise with the Legal OmbudsmanInvestigate claims and manage simpler disputes independently; liaise with external counsel on more complex mattersTrack complaint and claims deadlines, ensuring timely resolutionAssist with insurance notifications and renewals across PI and non-PI risksProvide input into internal and regulatory investigationsSupport on wider contentious matters including supplier disputesEnsure compliance with SRA Standards and other regulatory obligationsCandidate RequirementsUK qualified solicitor with 5-7+ years' post-qualification experience in civil/commercial litigationExperience in professional negligence, ideally including claims against law firmsKnowledge of insurance coverage matters is advantageousBackground may be from private practice or in-house (legal risk or general counsel's office)Able to manage matters autonomously, with sound judgement and communication skillsAdaptable, pragmatic and resilient, with the ability to work effectively in a high-performing teamPrevious experience in a large City or international law firm is desirable
