Paying up to £65,000I'm working with a leading consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Building Services team in London with the appointment of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, lead multidisciplinary design teams, and take a hands-on role in shaping the future of sustainable building services delivery.The Opportunity:As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading electrical design on a range of projects while working in joint leadership across MEP teams. You'll act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring technical excellence and smooth project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading electrical design packages from feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.
- Supervising and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring high-quality output.
- Providing design and technical advice across multidisciplinary teams.
- Reviewing design programmes and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
- Producing and overseeing detailed performance specifications.
- Representing the business in client meetings, interpreting and delivering on project needs.
- Contributing to business growth by playing a role in winning new commissions.
- Proven track record delivering building services projects within an electrical discipline.
- Experience leading both electrical packages and overall project teams.
- Degree in Building Services Engineering (or relevant discipline) and working towards Chartership (IET/CEng) - or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK regulations and the ability to demonstrate compliance through calculations.
- Proficiency with electrical design software and working knowledge of RevitMEP or other 3D design platforms.
- Ability to communicate technical detail effectively, both verbally and graphically.
- A collaborative mindset with excellent client-facing skills.
- Low voltage distribution systems, standby generation & UPS.
- Lighting design and calculations (software and hand).
- Cable calculations (software and hand).
- Small power and data cabling.
