
Senior Clinical Fellow in Hand Surgery

- Full GMC Registration and hold a licence to practise
- FRCS(Plast) or equivalent
- Undertaking the Hand Surgery Diploma
- Considerable experience in plastic surgery, as demonstrated by being either a Year 5/6 Specialist Registrar or equivalent
- Specialist interest in Hand Surgery
- Previous experience in surgery and clinical care of patients undergoing hand surgery
- Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with patients and other professionals
- Ability to manage own and other's time effectively
- Evidence of understanding of the role of clinical management
- Management training or qualification
- Evidence of leadership in the development of clinical services
- Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research
- Evidence of original research
- Clinical research and publications
- Experience of undergraduate teaching and post graduate training
- Ability to teach practical clinical skills to juniors
- Teaching qualification
- Evidence of understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council
- Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management
- Experience in clinical guideline development
- Appraisal training
