- To provide and efficient and cost effective assessment, Intervention, and therapeutic service to young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed
- To gather, Investigate, evaluate and analyse all necessary Information on assigned cases, demonstrating clarity of assessments, reliability of Information, evidenced conclusions and realistic action plans.
- To develop practice which takes a holistic View of the Individual, locating them in both their Immediate and extended social circles, and having a full regard to their education, social, recreational and health.
- To ensure that all case management complies with the statutory requirements and the council’s policies and procedures.
- To ensure that Investigations, enquiries and assessments are completed to high professional standards and that each case has in place current care plans, adequate recording, evidence of practice, reliable records and that all case records are fully maintained.

- To Identify service enhancements and support the culture of continuous improvement.
- To prepare and submit written reports as and when required,
- Including statements and care plans for care proceedings in the family proceeding, county, and high courts
- To recommend needs led assessments and Interventions within strict criteria and policy.
- To represent the team, group, or department on working parties and at other meetings as required.
- To ensure the service manager IS kept fully appraised of problems arising from workload and seek advice as and when necessary.
- To maintain and collate statistics and case records in order to enable local and central government to optimise the planning of resources.
- Where appropriate acting as the duty worker, responding to queues and issues on all cases currently being managed by the team.
- To supervise team members as required and to deputise for the team manager in all or some of their functions as required in their absence.
- A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Continual professional development.
- Social Work England registered.
