- RSCN / RN Child with current NMC registration
- Educated to degree level or working towards.
- Paediatric Intensive Care Course/415, or A and E course or equivalent advanced practice clinical course
- Preparation for Mentorship course or equivalent
- Evidence of continued professional development APLS
- Leadership course / development programme
- Advanced assessment of the deteriorating patient or willingness to undertake the course.
- Communicates in a manner that is consistent with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Communicates with people in a form and manner that: - Is consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background and preferred ways of communicating. - Is appropriate to the purpose of the communication and the context in which it is taking place - Encourages the effective participation of all involved Is proactive in seeking out different styles and methods of communicating to assist longer term needs and aims
- Provides feedback to other workers on their communication at appropriate times
- Takes a proactive role in producing accurate and complete records of communication consistent with legislation, policies and procedures
- Recognises and reflects on barriers to effective communication and modifies communication in response
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
