- Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing environment (ideally timber frame or similar).
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical background with hands-on maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with semi-automated manufacturing equipment, hydraulic presses, saws, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
- Effective communicator with experience managing and motivating teams across shifts.
- Experience implementing and managing planned maintenance systems
- Excellent understanding of health & safety and risk assessment in a production environment.
- Recognised qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification or similar health and safety training.
- Experience in timber manufacturing, construction products, or similar industries.
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of 6 maintenance technicians across two shifts (6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm).
- Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained to a high standard to minimise downtime and meet production targets.
- Develop and manage the preventative maintenance schedule for all machinery and factory infrastructure.
- Coordinate and respond effectively to reactive maintenance issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Work closely with Production and H&S teams to ensure machinery and maintenance processes are safe, compliant, and efficient.
- Monitor performance of equipment and implement root cause analysis for breakdowns and recurring issues.
- Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers and contractors where external support is required.
- Champion continuous improvement in maintenance systems, procedures, and team performance.
- Support and contribute to capital projects, machinery upgrades, and new equipment commissioning.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and comply with regulatory and company standards.
- Provide training and guidance to team members, promoting a culture of ownership and accountability.
