ISSMulti Trade Engineer Mech/PlumberLocation: London, N19 5NXHours of work: 40Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract | 6 monthWe are looking for a Multi-skilled Engineer to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.In this role, you will carry out maintenance and repairs across the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing plant, with a particular focus on your core trade discipline.Job DescriptionAs Multi-skilled Engineer, you’ll work closely with the manager, medical teams, nursing staff, and other client personnel, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.This is a great opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to essential services.Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, reactive, and corrective maintenance across mechanical systems (plant, air handling, alarms, catering, water, etc.)
  • Diagnose faults, source materials/spares, and ensure accurate records of work completed
  • Operate, monitor, and fault-find using the Building Management System (BMS)
  • Participate in on-call rota and provide timely response to urgent tasks
  • Act as Competent Person for Medical Gases and Legionella (training provided)
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, health & safety, COSHH, and company procedures
  • Liaise effectively with managers, Trust staff, subcontractors, and patients to support safe operations
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance, and fault diagnosis
  • Proficient in using and interpreting Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, contractors, and patients
  • Commitment to health & safety, hygiene standards, and compliance procedures
  • Flexible and reliable, with a willingness to participate in on-call rota and training
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to minimising downtime and costs
