Key Accountabilities:
  • Execute operational risk assessments to a high standard and on a timely basis and provide guidance and input to other team members
  • Support loss event processing, identification of root causes, remediation, tracking, etc.
  • Proactively identify business and functions' operational risks
  • Develop strong product, business and front to back process knowledge to allow risk identification ahead of time
  • Develop real time knowledge of activities and risk issues in the business lines and functions assigned
  • Support embedding of OR policies and Risk management framework in the business lines and functions assigned
  • Review and analyse risk data and determine adverse trends for escalation and understand emerging themes
  • Keep OR management abreast of issues and activities
  • Ensure cross pollination of risk issues and learnings across the regions and globally
  • Providing input into the reporting team's activities for the local and global levels
  • Ensure SOX documentation requirements and standards are met and that design effectiveness walkthroughs are performed (as part of the risk assessments)
  • Provide support to other OR teams as required to ensure completeness of risk assessment coverage across CM units and assist with developing consistency of OR approaches across divisions, where applicable
  • Develop and maintain a network of effective contacts in the business and functions and leverage these relationships in the performance of OR processes, embedding of policies, etc.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities assigned by Director, Operational Risk.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Experience of executing OR propositions and frameworks
  • Business relationship management experience from an operational risk perspective
  • Operational risk and capital markets (business and products) experience
  • Previous FO, functions and/or Audit or Risk Management experience
Skills and Competencies
  • Leadership potential
  • Strong sense of motivation and initiative is required
  • Ability to work independently without immediate supervision
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing field
  • Project management experience is a plus
