
Electrical Site Manager - Major Hospital Project - Plymouth

- Manage and oversee all electrical installation works from pre-construction through to commissioning and final client handover.
- Review and coordinate electrical designs, including Contractor Design Portion (CDP) submissions, resolving technical queries as they arise.
- Lead and manage electrical subcontractors, ensuring safe systems of work, adherence to programme, and delivery to the highest quality standards.
- Chair and actively participate in MEP coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve clashes and technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with NHS and healthcare-specific regulations, overseeing quality assurance and validation of electrical systems.
- Develop and execute commissioning strategies, witness testing, and ensure complete, accurate production of O&M manuals.
- Manage post-handover activities, including seasonal commissioning, client training, and defect resolution.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to project teams and junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.
- Report regularly to project leadership on progress, risks, and resource planning.
- Proven experience delivering electrical works or full MEP packages on hospital or healthcare projects, ideally in live or occupied environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services systems: power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, integration with mechanical and specialist systems.
- Expertise in managing interfaces between design, procurement, commercial, and site delivery.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, RAMS, commissioning procedures, and close-out requirements.
- Skilled in project planning software (MS Project / Asta).
- Degree or trade-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications: SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid.
