- RGN (Registered General Nurse) /RN (Registered Nurse) - level 1 registration
- Nursing Degree.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Non-medical prescriber
- Mentoring course
- Degree module in specialist area or working towards this or be prepared to study at this level.
- Communication/counselling skills training
- Knowledge of recent NHS legislation, recommendations.
- Awareness of the national and local priorities and changing trends in specialist area.
- Evidence of knowledge within specialist area
- Extensive proven post registration experience, some of which is in a relevant/ associated area.
- Experience of completing and contributing to audit / research.
- Experience of contributing to the teaching and mentoring of staff.
- Proven interest in Tissue Viability
- Experience in both hospital and community setting
- Assessment of Surgical wounds and application of TNP (Topical Negative Pressure).
- Lower limb assessments/; Doppler studies
- Diabetic foot assessment
- Complex case management
