This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting patients through their surgical journey. Youll be part of a friendly, supportive team that places patient care at the heart of everything we do, working across both theatre and recovery to ensure every patient receives safe, respectful, and high-quality care.This role offers the chance to develop your skills in a dynamic environment, with full training, supervision, and opportunities for career progression.Main duties of the jobAs a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will:
  • Provide compassionate support to patients before, during, and after surgery.
  • Assist qualified staff within both theatres and recovery, ensuring patients feel safe and reassured at every stage.
  • Take and record vital signs, support with wound dressings, venepuncture (after training), and assist during anaesthesia induction.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised clinical environment.
  • Handle patient documentation and maintain accurate, confidential records.
  • Welcome and support patients and their families, communicating clearly and sensitively.
  • Participate in training and development to grow your knowledge and skills
About usWith your previous experience in an acute or elective healthcare environment, you will also be a:
  • A natural team player.
  • Passionate about patient care, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, organised, and able to prioritise a busy workload under pressure.
  • Confident in using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Committed to professional development holding or willing to complete the Care Certificate.
  • Calm, compassionate, and approachable, always treating patients with dignity and respect.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Care/Promoting Independence, experience in elective surgery, or knowledge of care pathways - desirable but not essential
