Senior Technical ManagerCraigavon | £50,000 - £55,000 | Monday-FridayAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business supplying major UK and Irish retailers. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring products are safe, legal, and consistently meet both customer and industry standards.The RoleAs Technical Manager, you will take ownership of all technical and quality functions on-site, leading a team and driving a strong culture of food safety and continuous improvement. You will work cross-functionally with Operations, NPD, and Commercial teams, while also engaging directly with retail customers and external auditors.Key Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the site technical team and embedding a strong culture of food safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Ensuring all products meet customer requirements, legal obligations, and audit standards.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with major retail customers, acting as a key technical contact.
  • Supporting and managing customer visits and third-party audits.
  • Managing the training matrix and development of the technical team.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Collaborating with wider business functions to support innovation and new product development.
  • Ensuring site compliance with HACCP, BRCGS, and retailer standards at all times.
About YouWe are seeking a confident, proactive leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to manage both people and processes in a fast-paced environment.Essential:
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
  • Proven technical management experience within food manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety systems.
  • Experience liaising with retail customers and handling audits.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a proactive approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
  • Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Experience within high care or high-risk food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of retailer standards, particularly M&S and Waitrose.
  • HACCP Level 4 certification.
