
Children's Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Schools Team)

- Member of RCSLT
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses
- Ability to travel to different sites as required by the service.
- Demonstrate excellent specialist knowledge in a wide range of paediatric communication disorders which is underpinned by current evidence based practice.
- Relevant post-graduate experience working in schools.
- Good planning organisational, caseload management and prioritisation skills.
- Knowledge and demonstrated use of up to date assessment tools relevant to client group
- Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Ability and commitment to deliver training packages
- Basic IT skills
- Good presentation skills both written and verbal
- Experience of working with children and young people with complex communication and/or social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Have attended Talking Mats Training (Foundation Stage)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Negotiation and problem solving skills
- Good analytical and reflection skills
- Ability to be a good team member and proactive in supporting senior staff and service delivery
- Knowledge of national policies procedures and clinical guidance
- Awareness of principles of clinical governance
- Demonstrates an awareness and understanding of supporting equality and valuing diversity within their role.
