
Restructuring and Insolvency Senior Knowledge Lawyer

- dealing with queries from lawyers in the R&I team and clients regarding current R&I law and practice;
- keeping the R&I team abreast of relevant legal developments and preparing reader-friendly and relevant internal updates;
- developing and maintaining an up-to-date and technically excellent collection of R&I precedent documents;
- collecting, storing, maintaining, and sharing internal and external legal and market know-how;
- researching legal or market-related material to provide fee earners with clear and authoritative analyses;
- developing and helping deliver the R&I team's legal training programme;
- supporting partners and fee earners as required in their client relationship development through identifying potential topics and speakers for client seminars and client training sessions; preparing useful written and training materials; and, speaking at such seminars and sessions;
- providing support in preparing client updates and bulletins; and
- working alongside others to support innovation in the delivery of legal services.
- A qualified lawyer in England & Wales with significant R&I experience, a strong theoretical, practical, and up-to-date knowledge of English insolvency and restructuring law.
- Prior experience as a knowledge / professional support lawyer, or a demonstrable existing interest in knowledge best practice.
- A client-orientated approach with a good understanding of the use of knowledge to develop and support business development activities, preferably with prior experience of presenting to both individual client teams and at seminars and roundtables.
- Proven problem-solving ability on your own initiative, together with the ability to make decisions and progress work and projects quickly without undue process or over-complication; confidence in own expertise; and, a strong appreciation of fee earner needs and constraints.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to develop and work in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment.
- Interest in and willingness to learn about legal technology and how it can drive efficiencies and innovation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, enthusiasm for presenting technical legal issues in a clear, approachable and professional way and a good understanding of how knowledge is acquired by the lawyer and client audience.
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail, and well-developed analytical skills.
