Apply today and become part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to transforming mental health services for older adults in Cornwall.We offer competitive recruitment incentive and relocation packages for the right candidate to join us here in Cornwall.Main duties of the jobTo act as a consultant resource to the Gannel complex care and dementia psychiatry service, including individual casework with selected patients referred from the multidisciplinary teams and by consultant colleagues, together with providing broader advice to colleagues in psychiatry and other disciplines.The post-holder will provide outpatient and community based services as needed including home visits. The consultant must be approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983 and be an Approved Clinician.Very occasionally, it is necessary to provide expert advice, as directed by the courts, on Cornwall Foundation Trust patientsAbout usWe're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.   • Recognised Medical Degree
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Inclusion (or eligibility for inclusion) on the Specialist Register or a Specialty Trainee within 6 months of gaining CCT
  • Section 12 Approval
Desirable
  • Relevant Higher Degree e.g., MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
  • Completion of Clinical and Educational Supervisor Training
  • Approved Clinicain status
ExperienceEssential
  • Knowledge and evidence of participation in CPD
  • Experience working in an Inpatient setting
Desirable
  • Experience of working across different services within mental health
  • Other relevant experience, e.g., specific psychological therapies
  • Qualifications or experience in managing physical illness
