Our client, a well-established organisation in Peterborough, is seeking a Payroll Assistant to join their friendly HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll expertise who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, with plenty of scope to develop further skills across HR administration.This is an office based role, working 8.30 - 4.30 (hours can be flexible after initial training period), easily commutable with links close to A1The RoleAs Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for the smooth and accurate running of both weekly and monthly payrolls. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring compliance, meeting deadlines, and providing administrative support across the HR function.Key duties include:Processing payroll on both a weekly and monthly basisUsing Sage and Time and Attendance systems to manage payroll and clear anomaliesRecording absences and managing maternity, paternity, and sickness calculationsActioning change forms and attachments of earnings promptlyCompleting year-end processes including P60s, P11Ds, statutory returnsProcessing starters and leavers, including generating P45sManaging pension uploads and paymentsSupporting HR administration, right-to-work checks, and onboarding/offboardingMaintaining accurate records and archives in line with GDPRAssisting with occupational health processes, including annual health screeningAbout YouWe’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and a team-focused approach.You will bring:Previous payroll experience (essential)Knowledge of Sage Payroll (desirable)Experience with Time and Attendance software (desirable)Strong organisational and administrative skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA positive, approachable, and adaptable attitudeWhy Apply?This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive HR team where your contribution will be highly valued.
