- Proven experience working with students with PMLD in an educational setting.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people with complex needs.
- Familiarity with communication tools such as Makaton, PECS, or similar (desirable).
- A solid understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding guidelines.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent SEN-related qualification).
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for creating an inclusive learning environment.

- Provide individualized support to students with PMLD, both one-on-one and in small groups, to help foster their independence and personal growth.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create and implement tailored education plans (IEPs) that meet the specific needs of each student.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, mobility, and hygiene, ensuring that students feel safe, comfortable, and dignified.
- Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement, confidence, and progress.
- Collaborate with the SEN team to monitor and adapt teaching strategies to best support each student's learning journey.
- Utilize specialized equipment to ensure accessibility and enhance the students' learning experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide holistic support for students.
