Bid Manager - Major ProjectsWernick Buildings, a leader in the modular buildings industry, specialises in designing and constructing innovative and sustainable modular solutions across a variety of sectors. With over 90 years of experience, we are renowned for our commitment to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.We're seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead the end-to-end bid process for major modular construction projects. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of bid development-from opportunity identification through to proposal submission whilst ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and competitive tenders.The Bid Manager - Major Projects will be responsible for developing winning bid strategies, managing crossfunctional teams, co-coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and presenting proposals to clients both virtually and in person.About the roleKey Responsibilities:To own and lead the full bid life cycle for major projects, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.Define and implement bid strategies aligned with business objectives and client needs.Collaborate with estimators to develop accurate, competitive pricing and commercial submissions.Liaise with internal departments (design, commercial, operations, legal, etc.) and external partners to gather input and ensure alignment.Oversee the preparation of compelling, compliant, and tailored bid documents, including written content, visuals, and pricing.Present bids to clients in virtual meetings or face-to-face presentations, articulating value propositions and technical solutions.Identify and mitigate risks associated with bids, ensuring commercial and contractual compliance.Conduct post-bid reviews and lessons learned to refine future bid processes and strategies.Essential Requirements:Degree or equivalent in Construction, Engineering, or related field.Proven experience managing complex bids in the construction or modular building sector.Strong understanding of estimating principles and commercial acumen.Excellent project management and organisational skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.Confident presenter with experience in client-facing roles.Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.Desirable Requirements:APMP or similar bid management certificationCSCS card and relevant health & safety trainingFamiliarity with public sector procurement and frameworksWhat You Will Get in Return:Competitive salary and bonus scheme.Generous holiday allowance (rising with service).Option to buy extra holidays.Option to sell or carry over up to 5 days holiday.Christmas Shutdown.Early finish on Fridays.Group pension.Annual salary review each January.Life assurance of 2x annual salary.Personal accident insurance.Free onsite parking.Employee assistance programme.Training and progression opportunities.Family-run and well-established, secure company (trading 90 years).Open door policy.Cycle to work scheme.Employee referral scheme.Benefits scheme (discounted retailers).Corporate eyecare scheme through Specsavers.Direct communication with MD/CEO and staff satisfaction surveys.Equal Opportunities Statement:We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.
