How you'll make an impact
- Take ownership of detailed lease accounting reports on a monthly basis, in line with policy.
- Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and other departments to address queries promptly.
- Cultivate connections within the wider Finance team, across regional teams, and with internal/external audit and other collaborators.
- Serve as a contact for addressing customer concerns by establishing connections with key operational figures in the business.
- Discuss results and reporting closely with regional finance partners, including Finance Directors and Finance Business Partners.
- Prepare and review reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of specific lease accounting general ledgers.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variance analyses against budget and prior year on the profit and loss statement.
- Engage in the preparation and review of monthly journals and quarterly disclosure information.
- Inspire change to improve departmental and team performance, supporting graduates and part-qualified students in their development.
- Ensure full compliance with SOX requirements.
- Take necessary steps to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, good governance, and Gallagher’s shared values, with a focus on client-centricity.
- Plan and implement remedial actions in collaboration with relevant experts within the firm if any shortcomings are identified.
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Experience in either professional services or a large/complex business.
- Technical knowledge (preferable but not vital): US GAAP, SOX, project management, process implementation.
- Ability to manage priorities and adhere to challenging deadlines.
- Quick understanding of new technical processes.
- Adaptability to change.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexible attitude to dealing with multiple tasks and environments.
- Strong organisational and influencing skills.
