As a DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging, practical lessons that develop students’ creativity, technical abilities, and understanding of design processes across Key Stages.Responsibilities as a Design Technology Teacher:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that cover a range of topics including product design, resistant materials, graphics, and CAD/CAM.
  • Create a safe and inspiring learning environment that encourages innovation and independent thinking.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with other staff to support the wider curriculum and school initiatives.
  • Maintain and manage workshop tools, equipment, and health & safety standards.
Requirements for Design Technology Teacher:
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
  • Specialism or experience in teaching Design Technology at school level.
  • Strong classroom management and a passion for creative, practical learning.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • Provide a full CV with a clear 10-year history, with any gaps explained.
