Job DetailsJob Summary:As the Lead Structural Field Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing subcontractor construction activities on a large, complex project with multiple stakeholders. Your focus will include planning, safety, quality, and technical coordination to ensure construction activities are aligned with project objectives. You will act as a critical liaison between the field and engineering, ensuring that construction execution aligns with approved plans, schedules, and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Subcontractor Coordination:Lead daily coordination with subcontractors' management teams to monitor and direct planning, safety, quality, and technical execution within assigned areas.Ensure subcontractor work aligns with the overall project plan, and hold teams accountable for meeting milestones and quality standards.Resolve field-related issues in real time and escalate major concerns to project leadership as needed.Planning & Scheduling:Review and monitor subcontractor schedules, resource allocations, and material/equipment logistics.Approve or recommend modifications to subcontractor methods, manpower plans, and equipment deployment to optimize efficiency and productivity.Align construction activities with interface milestones and project-wide scheduling requirements.Safety & Quality Assurance:Enforce compliance with project-specific safety policies and procedures to promote a zero-incident culture.Oversee installation of materials and structural systems to verify conformance with design specifications, engineering documents, and vendor instructions.Support audits and inspections, and drive continuous improvement in field execution quality.Technical Oversight:Collaborate with Construction Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals to interpret and implement engineering and vendor documentation.Coordinate with Engineering and Design teams to resolve constructability issues and integrate field-driven design improvements.Support technical query (TQ) and request for information (RFI) resolution processes.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or international equivalent).Alternatively, 14-17 years of relevant field experience in lieu of a formal degree.Experience:10-13 years of relevant experience in structural field engineering on large-scale, high-complexity projects.Experience working on Bechtel or similar EPC projects highly desirable.Mining and metals industry experience preferred.Skills & Knowledge:Strong knowledge of construction execution, contract management, and field coordination.Familiarity with Bechtel standard work processes and automation tools such as ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, and eSub (preferred).Working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices in structural engineering and construction.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and construction-related software.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Job Summary:As the Lead Structural Field Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing subcontractor construction activities on a large, complex project with multiple stakeholders.
