Maintenance AssistantBand 3Permanent37.5 Hours per weekWe need a maintenance assistant to join our team to help keep our hospital environment safe, operational by supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and visitors - day in day out, it's a blend of planned maintenance coupled with emergency repairs and everything in between.Main duties of the jobAs an Estates Maintenance Worker, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our hospitals remain safe, functional, and comfortable for patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:Planned Maintenance: Executing a range of planned maintenance tasks to keep our buildings and external environments safe and in good order.Safety First: Prioritising safety by conducting regular inspections and addressing potential hazards to create a secure environment.Exceptional Service: Delivering outstanding customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and collaborating effectively with colleagues.Flexible Support: Adapting to changing priorities and working flexibly to support our clinical teams and patient care.Main duties of the jobTo undertake, without supervision a variety of tasks which would include:-
  • External grounds inspections
  • Repair and replacement external paviours and kerbs
  • Casting of concrete slabs
  • General site labouring
  • Dismantling and installation of hospital equipment and street furniture.
  • Road repairs
  • General building repairs
  • Patch plastering

  • Proven history of working within an Engineering / Building environment.
  • Good hand skills working with fine tools.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: both written & verbal
  • Experience and competence to carry out Builders general tasks
Desirable
  • Experience and sound knowledge of plastering
QualificationsEssential
  • Educated to City and Guilds Level
  • NVQ Training in an Engineering / Building Discipline
OtherEssential
  • Proactive and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team player.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the job.
  • Able to manage conflicting demands and plan work as appropriate.
