*FIXED TERM (4-6 MONTH CONTRACT)*Due to a significant increase in volume, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager to support a second shift, ideally with experience of packing and assembly lines with approx. 100 staff. Responsible for the management of the production teams through a team leader structure. Requires a hands-on approach dealing with different support areas, quality, engineering, warehouse and planning to ensure production targets are met. Providing clear leadership, direction and communication to the teams, ensuring quality and H&S standards are maintained.Key Responsibilities:· Provide clear leadership and direction for the production teams.· Ensure Health and safety requirements and targets are met· Identify and implement continuous improvement projects in the production environment by measuring, analysing and improving systems & processes.· Work as part of the site management team, fostering close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Planning and HR departments· Resource planning and people management· Identify training needs, develop, and appraise team to meet succession plan.· Utilise LEAN skills and experience to improve processes and support LEAN activities on site.· Report on weekly and monthly KPI metrics to Senior Management.· Monitor production objectives and compile action plans to achieve targets.· Implement preventative actions to improve both process and product quality.· Manage the production process to deliver the weekly production schedule.· Ensure all production works orders are closed on SAP within the defined parameters· Identify cost and efficiency improvements, plan and execute.· Ensure the production department is cost effective and meets all cost targets.· Ensure all products are manufactured to the correct Quality standard, right first time.· Ensure the Production department meets all quality procedures and perform all tasks to meet our Quality Management System.· Manage the holiday and absence for the production dept.· Carry out any reasonable requests that are required to achieve the overall purpose of the job.   • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant managerial experience in similar production environments
  • Development of Lean culture and learning environment
  • Experience of training/developing staff
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to make decisions, use initiative, implement, and ensure compliance with company policies & procedures.
  • PC literate within a Microsoft windows environment.
  • Customer focused.
  • High level of honesty and integrity
Desirable
  • Experience of working in an Electronic Assembly Operation / Medical Devices
  • Working knowledge of SAP
List All Required Education/ Qualifications/ Training:Essential
  • Experience of managing production department in a fast paced and complex environment
  • Dynamic Decision Maker, Effective Planner, Problem Solver and Communicator.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GMP standards within area of operation.
  • Continuous Improvement activity - proven experience in the use of and deployment of Lean tools and techniques or Lean Six Sigma accreditation.
  • Competent in use of computer systems/programs
Desirable
  • Relevant higher education qualification e.g., Degree, Higher National Certificate / Diploma
  • Managerial experience at a Senior Level
