We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Hewell, a category B Prison located in Redditch.In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.HoursMonday to Friday: 07:00 - 18:30Weekends and Bank Holidays: 08:30 - 17:30You will work a fixed rolling shift pattern, working 14-15 days per month:Week1: 4 days including weekendsWeek 2: 3 days weekdays onlySalaryThis position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary between £33232 - 40211 per annum - depending on experience.How will we support you?

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.What you'll be doingAs a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
  • Hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs
  • Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Prior to joining Practice Plus Group I spent almost 10 years working in community, but I have found that the prison environment is where I feel I can utilise my skills and truly make a difference. I see patients with complex health issues, I help keep them informed about their medication and support out-patients in managing their conditions day to day.
