This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team who are developing new ways of working, efficiencies and digital solutions to Pharmacy procurement and distribution.This role will give you the opportunity to work across all areas of pharmacy procurement and distribution including:Procurement, ward distribution, pharmacy stores, prep services and homecare and high cost drugs.The successful candidate will demonstrate qualities of leadership, project implementation and effective time management skills.Main duties of the jobTo work in partnership with the Principal Pharmacist, Chief Technician and Senior technicians within Pharmacy medicines procurement and distribution teams providing a high-quality serviceTo rotate between the specialist areas of pharmacy procurement and distribution including pharmacy stores, ward distribution, procurement and homecare/high cost drugsProvide support to prep services where appropriateTo co-ordinate the workload and supervise activities day-to-dayTo assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures ensuring they are fit for purpose and in date at all timesTo support and supervise the training of staff working within the pharmacy procurement and distribution team.To train, monitor and develop the role of an Assistant Technical Officer and to identify any training needs within the pharmacy procurement and distribution teamsTo support the capturing and reporting of relevant KPI's across all pharmacy procurement and distribution activitiesProactively support service development and quality improvement projects within the pharmacy procurement and distribution team and the wider pharmacy teamUndertake regular dispensary-based core duties such as dispensing and accuracy checking in line with the agreed rota and needs of the serviceTo work in accordance with Trust policies and pharmacy local procedures.About usThe Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS trusts in the West Midlands providing primary, acute and community services and we are incredibly proud of the diversity of both our staff and the communities we serve.
