- We are seeking a motivated and experienced Contract Manager to join our team, taking full responsibility for projects and contract installations from handover through to completion
- Our projects encompass a diverse range of mechanical and civil works, and you will receive full support in developing a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of our industry
- Full-time permanent position, working five days a week based in Greater Manchester
- The role requires travel to sites across the UK for pre-start meetings and the planning and inspection of works, with occasional overnight stays
- Client Communication – Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations, and email correspondence as appropriate
- Contract Management – Review and confirm the scope of work, ensuring all schedules, practicalities, and changes are agreed with the client and properly documented, including pricing for compensation events
- Project Execution – Plan and deliver projects effectively by coordinating resources, managing suppliers, and confirming labour requirements with the Operations Manager. Prepare and provide complete project documentation, including Programme of Works, risk assessments, method statements, and quality assurance documents
- Financial Control – Monitor and manage project finances, ensuring delivery within budget. Coordinate with the Finance team to issue requests for invoices and applications
- Preferably Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar
- Ability to manage technical details in contracts (experience in NEC3/4 ideal but not essential), engineering drawings and site installation
- Close attention to detail, identifying points of risk / uncertainty, and ensuring these get clarified and resolved
- Diligently maintaining documentation
- Excellent communication skills with clients, suppliers and the Spaans team
