Due to retirement a position has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated salaried GP to join our well-established, high achieving practice, rated Good by CQC.Our list size is approximately 6200 patientsNewburn Surgery has been offering excellent patient-centred health care for over 90 years and is ideally located within easy access to Newcastle city centre, as well as the beautiful Northumberland coastline.We are a forward-thinking GP training and undergraduate teaching practice with consistent excellent patient feedback. We operate from partner-owned premises and a medical suite within the nearby Lemington Centre.
  • the post is for 4 sessions per week, working on a Tuesday or a Thursday plus a Friday.

Main duties of the jobIn your role you will provide a variety of duties including:
  • face to face consultations
  • telephone consultations
  • e-consultations
  • visiting patients at home
  • supervising and supporting students, F2 and GPR training.
  • undertaking a share of on-call sessions
  • checking and signing prescriptions
  • dealing with medication queries and test results
  • paperwork including insurance reports and medical correspondence all in a timely manner.

This is a chance for a like-minded individual to join us in continuing our excellent service.We have 4 partners and 2 salaried GP with a supportive and experienced team of practice nurses and HCAs and a very multi skilled administrative team.We are a longstanding GP and undergraduate training practice and have doctors in training (GPR, FY2), 4th and 5th year medical students.We are part of the Newcastle Outer West PCN and as such have access to pharmacists, dietician, physiotherapists, practice nurses, HCAs, health and wellbeing coaches, social prescribers and counsellors.
